A welcome from the Director of Sixth Form
At Chestnut Grove we are proud of our students’ achievements and of our tradition of excellence. Our moral purpose is to foster a life-long love of learning, to stimulate intellectual curiosity and to develop independence within our student body. We achieve this through exceptional teaching and learning opportunities both within and beyond the classroom, and through outstanding advice, information and guidance.
We consider each student not only as an individual but also as a two year project to help them into the university, apprenticeship or career of their choice. Our inclusive ethos encourages students to participate and contribute to the vibrancy of the school, and to the wider local community. Our enrichment, enhancement and extra-curricular provision is purposely designed to broaden the student experience and to challenge our students to think critically and to problem solve.
A strong Induction programme supports the transition from Key Stage 4 into Key Stage 5 and enables all students to access appropriate pathways to unlock their potential, allowing them to progress and succeed. Students leave us as mature young adults, equipped with the essential skills set necessary to face a rapidly changing world.
Each year we receive applications from students attending other schools and colleges as well as from our own year 11, and external applicants can be assured of a smooth transition which will enable them to quickly feel part of the Chestnut Grove community.
I look forward to working in partnership with all our students, and their families, over the next two years, to secure improved future life chances, economic well-being and accelerated progress for all.
I’d further like to formally introduce and welcome Ms Lee into her new role as Head of Sixth Form.
