William Blake (28 November 1757 – 12 August 1827) was an English painter, poet and printmaker. Blake’s work was not celebrated during his lifetime but he is now considered very important artist of the romantic age.
He started developing his skills by copying drawings from Greek antiques which his father bought for him. He was a fan of the artwork of Raphael, Michaelangelo. Although he was considered mad by other artists of the time, critics today celebrate him for his expressiveness and creativity.
