Business Intent
The Business curriculum enables us to develop knowledge of key business ideas which we can apply to real-world experiences. It widens our understanding of the world of work through practical application of knowledge and skills.
KS4
At KS4 we offer Business Studies at BTEC Level 2. This course has become increasingly more popular amongst the students as it provides a detailed overview of the running of a Business. The course is based over two years and the students cover four separate units including, enterprise, finance, branding and customer service with the aim to finish two units each year. Business Studies BTEC is heavily coursework based however an exam in finance is conducted usually at the end of the first year. There are also plans in place to introduce GCSE Business Studies in the near future which comprises of 60% coursework and 40% written exam.
KS5
At KS5 we offer Business Studies at BTEC Level 3 which contains 12 different units covered over two years. This course enhances the knowledge that the students gained in the Level 2 BTEC focusing on marketing and recruitment in greater depth along with the development of ICT and external influences that impact our economy. The skills that students develop at Level 3 provide students with in-depth knowledge which will support them with the courses that they undertake at university in the future.
