Staff wellbeing is considered in the design of all initiatives and policies. Out staff regularly feed back on their workload and we collectively work on ensuring out workload is manageable and our roles sustainable, We were awarded London Healthy Wellbeing Award Commitment level in 2018 and Achievement level in 2019.
We offer a comprehensive wellbeing program, which includes:

Annual 'Nike Day': a whole day of pampering with yoga, martial arts, art therapy, stress reduction, meditation with a Buddhist monk workshops and pastoral CPD in Nike HQ

Reflective Practice: teachers are the only profession that deals with trauma without supervision - but not at Chestnut Grove! We provide fortnightly RP sessions in which teachers can reflect, connect with their feelings and collectively problem-solve in order to develop coping strategies and improve their practice.

Healthy eating treats: during our Healthy Eating week in March 2023, we provided staff with home-made granola, yoghurts, mueslis, fancy teas, cereals and fruit - each day a different treat!

Workload reduction: research-informed workload-reduction strategies regularly deployed; working parties propose workload-reduction changes; time provided for marking on INSET days; shorted teaching days when progress meetings (parents’ evenings) are held; collaborative planning and banks of resources in every department and many more.
