JUDI DUMONT BARTER :   Chair of Local Academy Committee

Judi started her governance journey in 2008 as a parent representative. Both her children had successful school careers at Chestnut Grove Academy – one is a make-up artist within Estée Lauder and the other is a police officer with Surrey Police.

Judi works for the charity Inclusion Barnet, and has been with them since May 2021, generally supporting charity infrastructure. Since May 2022, she has been leading a project supporting minority communities at higher risk of cardiovascular disease.

Becoming Chair of Governors in 2014, Judi has supported CGA to transition to academy status; led the recruitment of the current headteacher; and worked with the executive heads (CGA and Chesterton) to become a multi-academy trust. From 2019–2023, Judi was also co-Chair of Paxton Academy, which is part of the Wandle Trust family of schools.

Judi has a life-long passion for psychology and gained a BA and Masters in the subject area. She is continually inspired and curious to understand how to support humanity to flourish in all aspects of living, but especially through positive and rewarding work and group engagement.
